PRESENTER: It is actually a very important development for Turkey to have a role in the foreign policy and take solid steps in the way of establishing the Turkish-Islamic Union. On the other hand, we started to fall out with Israel. Do you think some incidents such as the recent conflict in Masjid al-Aqsa or some university students’ protest against the ambassador of Israel to Ankara are simply provocations? That is to say, are there any circles willing to distance us from Israel? Rather than the escalation of the war, we want the conflicts to end and Jews and Muslims to live side by side in peace. That is why we want Israel-Turkish relations to improve and Turkey to arbitrate so as to make our Palestinian Muslim friends live in peace. What is your opinion?
ADNAN OKTAR: Did you say Israeli ambassador?
PRESENTER: Israel ambassador encountered protests in Turkey in two different locations. In a university the students hurled eggs to the ambassador in protest.
ADNAN OKTAR: So the Israel ambassador was egged in protest?
PRESENTER: Egged. In a visit he paid to a Municipality, he made some tough declarations which led to such a reaction. That is what I know from its media coverage.
ADNAN OKTAR: [The protestors] could give away that much of eggs to poor people instead so they could have a good meal out of it. The protestors would earn their prayers. Waste is unlawful (haram) in Islam. It is not appropriate to throw away beautiful, clean food. More importantly, the ambassador is our guest here. There is a phrase, “An envoy cannot be blamed for his mission.” The envoy cannot be blamed for his mission. He came here trusting us. He trusted in our protection, respect and came to us. We should respect a person who is a guest and an envoy. What they did was disgraceful. If you oppose him in the intellectual sense, you can write an essay, organize a panel discussion, make declarations, send a letter to the Embassy, send a letter to Israeli government, and so on. However, it is inappropriate to annoy, embarrass, unsettle a guest and hurl eggs and other things. This is a manner incompatible with the Turkish-Islamic morality. Let’s look at our history; we have never had such a manner. We always had foreign guests. Envoys used to come in war-time. “An envoy cannot be blamed for his mission.” An envoy is to be respected. They struggle to stir a storm in a teacup between Israel and us.
Israel is a community mentioned in the Qur’an. They are from the line of the prophets. They are mentioned in the Qur’an many times as Children of Israel. They are from the line of the Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him). In the Qur’an, when they err, the Almighty Allah warns them. We can also warn them when they err. But it should be done with courtesy and tolerance and in a wise and Qur’anic manner.
We will insha’Allah protect and watch over Israel. They will live in extreme tranquility, be in peace and security within the Turkish-Islamic Union. For centuries, my dear fellows had always lived in tension and horror. That is how they lived in Spain and in Europe. There are Turkish-Jewish people living in Russia. They are quite crowded. Karaim Turks. They are our brothers who should be protected and watched over as well. They are of Turkish origin. They are members of Judaism. We meticulously protect them, just as how Israel does. It is not right to oppress and spread terror in a nation, a community because of its belief, faith and religion. Remember the psychopathy committed by Hitler. Neo-Nazis commit the same kind of psychopathy as well. In other words, during the course of history, they were either burnt or sent to exile or hurt or threatened all the time. Let these people live in ease. Ain’t I right? It is a sin. They have a right to live, too. There, they have found a homeland for themselves. It is clearly understood from the Qur’an that they are going to live there. From the verses of the Qur’an, one can tell that they will be in Jerusalem, in Israel. But they should be living in peace and love under our protection and clemency.
Terror brings out terror. Roughness brings out roughness. We should avoid tension. A loving, conciliatory, protective, merciful, affectionate manner is essential. Because, for example, sometimes a person attempts to blow a fist against someone, Allah forbid, and the other party attempts to shoot him by gun.
ADNAN OKTAR: Then, the other attempts to give him a completely different lesson. The incidents develop like 2, 4, 8, 16. Even if there is an abnormal attitude, we should respond him with compassion and respect as referred to in the Qur’an: “Repel the bad with something better and, if there is enmity between you and someone else, he will be like a bosom friend.” They never employ this method in their approach.
I have many Jewish friends. They will come to visit me. Rabbi Froman and other rabbis will come here. By Allah’s leave, we will make them meet Ahmadinejad. He (Rabbi Froman) wants to meet him, too. He will come here as my guest. He is a very holy person, very modest person. When he sees me, his eyes fill with tears. He loves me dearly, he is full of love. He also feels sympathy for Islam and the Qur’an.
ADNAN OKTAR: What does “Let there be no Jew in the world,” mean? There are Jews mentioned in the Qur’an. Allah talks about a nation called Jews. There is a community called Children of Israel. You try to annihilate them while Allah states that they exist. And why do they need to be annihilated? They are put into our custody from the time of Prophet Abraham (pbuh). If they are to be Muslims, the Almighty Allah would call them that way. Allah would say that they were all Muslims and that would be it. However, the Almighty Allah calls them the People of the Book. In the Qur’an, it is evident that the Children of Israel will live by Judaism. Yet, during the time of the Messiah, when Messiah descends to Earth, they will willingly, not by compulsion, follow the Prophet Jesus (pbuh). Look, this is very important, there will not be the slightest compulsion. All the People of the Book will follow the Prophet Jesus (pbuh). We are responsible for the protection of these people, whom Allah sends under our guardianship with love, compassion and a deep security until that time comes.
ADNAN OKTAR: They did this to us, so let us respond them that way. From the very beginning, these people were continuously intimidated and clamped down. They were exposed to terror wherever they had been. They developed a reflex; whenever someone raises a hand, they immediately start to defend themselves. A state of panic occurs. This is, of course, a humane reflex, I am not saying that this is abnormal. This happens out of a humane reflex. It is not right to confront such people and say that we will demolish the places wherever there is a Jew. These are the words uttered despite the fact that they never be realized. Why do you cause a panic by saying something you will never do? For example, may Allah be pleased with Ahmadinejad; he first said that they would demolish Israel. He caused an enormous panic in Israel. We have been trying to appease this panic in Israel for months. Of course, he is not going to demolish Israel. Nothing like that will ever happen. But he uttered such a word. The people from Israel say, “What if, he does!”, and I say, “He will not commit such an act. This won’t happen. Turkey is here for a reason. Is the world left to its own devices to such extent?” First of all, it is not in the destiny. On the contrary, the hadith does not refer to such an incident. On the contrary, it is mentioned in the hadith that the Children of Israel will be protected and watched over with compassion. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will rule them in compliance with the original Torah. That is, he will protect them. If it were not the case, this would have been mentioned in the hadith. In this case, we would find reference to Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) attack on Israel or similar [undesirable] happenings. However, the hadith refers to deep compassion and mercy.
In the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), everywhere will turn into a bed of roses, enjoying an utter tranquility and peace. For this reason, when he comes, I will get in touch with Ahmadinejad and ask him to completely appease this situation. Such a situation is already out of question; there is no need for tension. Such an incident will never happen. We have to make a solid reconciliation between Israel and Palestine. Otherwise, both parties would suffer pride. That is, they would retaliate for every act. For example they say, they will shoot the mosque because they are hiding in it. This is a very conscience-pricking state. Also it is not a situation that would make us give right to them. Why should such incidents occur? We have to eradicate the problem. Let’s reconcile and appease. Withdraw the armed soldiers, then the problems will be resolved. They are very holy lands, quite vast lands. Indeed, the population is very scarce in Israel while the land is vast enough to accommodate everyone. The land is so vast. There is no problem regarding the land. The population is very low. The population of Palestine is also low, so the land is enough for everyone. Indeed, if they wish, there is always land. They can live everywhere, in all countries as they wish. Insha’Allah, this artificial problem will be resolved during the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)...
ADNAN OKTAR: An utter artificial problem. Somebody has uttered a word and the events escalated as a consequence. This is stirring a storm in a teacup. Insha’Allah we try to calm this situation as much as we can. When everything calms down, everything will be settled since the Children of Israel don’t have an aggressive and rampageous spirit. They consider the Muslims as the Children of Noah. I mean they see Islam as a righteous religion. They consider Muslims as the followers of Prophet Noah’s (pbuh) religion and they normally approach compassionately. They want to live happily with every other religion. But they have a security tension over them, a kind of fear extending back to hundreds of years. A severe fear. Because they go out to a street and are attacked. They go somewhere and skinheads attack them. Hitler appears on the scene and tries to burn them. Someone emerges and tries to poison them. I mean there is an infernal attitude towards this lineage of Prophet. And thus fury comes about. If they have any flaws, any unacceptable aspects, then these can be corrected. But they are resolved by peace and compassion.
PRESENTER: Of course. Is murder a method of resolving problems?
ADNAN OKTAR: This is the best way to address the problem. The spirit of compassion, affection, mercy, tranquility, friendship and brotherhood. Then how do we come to be friends and brothers? When we call them, they are very compassionate insha’Allah. Thus insha’Allah in the days to come, the situation will be even more settled. In the days to come, the Sanhedrin Rabbis will also come again. We will also meet with them. They are full of love. Just recently Jewish students were our guests in our home. They have so much trust in me. They came and felt at home. We served them fruit and they ate them happily. They felt secure just as if they were in their own homes. However, according to some other views, visiting a Muslim house can be considered as horrific. But they were more comfortable than they were in their own homes. They come in, go out, get in the kitchen, get something to eat, they were so lovely. I invited them again, asked them to “come again”. They liked it so much that they want to come again with their families. They know that I have a genuine love for them. Also those Jewish Rabbis. For example, they are quite prominent people in Israel and they have such key points in Israel. They are submitting their selves completely in our hands. They are eating the food we serve them. Just consider that they are staying in our homes, this means they are in total submission. Would anyone stay at another’s house unless they had 100 percent trust? Even in Turkey people do not trust one another. They would not easily stay at another person’s house, this would be a very very rare event.
PRESENTER: Just on the condition that he knows the person very well or that person is a relative or a familial relation.
ADNAN OKTAR: It is very hard because in many places they even keep off from their relatives. See that they trust us more than their relatives, which shows there is a deep love. They have clearly comprehended my sincerity and wholeheartedness for them. They can feel this even from a distance of kilometers away. Each one of them, whoever is to come, makes himself at home and feels the same comfort. They trust us in terms of security of life and in every other aspect.
For example they also want to take their families with them. Insha’Allah, Rabbi Froman will come with his wife, she is an elderly very sweet lady. They will come together as I had asked them to in their last visit. These are decent people, if such kind-heartedness existed there would be no conflicts or tension and they would live in comfort and delight. It is redundant to portray Muslims like despotic or harsh people. Are Muslims like that, does the Qur’an command us such conduct? We are tested and then will leave this short-lived world. We have only a time like the blink of an eye...
In summary, we should definitely avoid tensions, because human soul is delicate. One could be offended or be doubtful in regard to a very minor instance. Here there is a drastic threat which finds its place in one’s brain. Threat is a very peculiar word. Therefore when Ahmadinejad comes, he is a cherishable person, we will endeavor to calm down this matter Insha’Allah.
