The Armenians are really hemmed in there. They have been both trapped in there and hemmed in there. It will mean breathing space for them. It means good things for the whole region.

ADNAN OKTAR: These references to the caliphate and the sultanate are being put forward deliberately. Because there is no such caliphate or sultanate under the Turkish-Islamic Union. The system will be an ultra-modern one. Buildings will be ultra-modern, youth will be ultra-modern, life will be ultra-modern, and love, affection, compassion, friendship and brotherhood will prevail. Everyone will be religious, but the system will be secular. That is to say, Turkey will remain secular. People will live by Islam in a perfect manner under that system. There will be no sultanate or caliphate or anything of the kind. People who say that are being ignorant, or else doing it deliberately. Our wish is entirely to enlighten and strengthen Turkey. We want a bright, shiny Turkey. We want to make Turkey a country in which everywhere is full of happy people, full of fruit trees and little zoos, a country full of very religious, honorable, pure and excellent people. And that goes for the Islamic world, too. This is an emotional leadership.
Imagine that there is a famine in Armenia. They are our very dear brothers and they ask everyone to send what they can spare. A campaign begins. Armenia will be relieved in just 5 minutes. Say there is fighting between two Islamic countries. They will tell them to stop, that fighting is sinful, and they will cease out of love and respect and for Allah’s approval. It will take that form.

ADNAN OKTAR: All states will remain in their own systems. For example, Turkey will remain a secular, democratic unitary state. This is love. For example, let us assume that Azerbaijan needs money. We will send requests to all Turkish and Islamic countries, collect money and send it off. Simple as that. Or say that we need petrol. We will say, “We need petrol, but we have no money.” They will send us petrol for free. It is a matter of love. It is a matter of friendly, loving relations with one’s neighbors. We see that when we go and live in rural areas.
REPORTER: Definitely.
ADNAN OKTAR: When someone runs out of oil you immediately bring them some.
REPORTER: These are things we still do.
ADNAN OKTAR: When someone is ill, everyone gathers round, don’t they? Or if there is an attack by wolves all the villagers pull together and chase them off with guns. It is like that.
REPORTER: Yes.
ADNAN OKTAR: There will be no logic in that love. People must not look at it through the eyes of logic. Neither is there any officialdom in it. In the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as) there will be love and joy and friendship. Everything will be based on love and on friendship. There is nothing that love cannot resolve.

ADNAN OKTAR: This is at the same time the age of the system of Hazrat Mahdi (as). It is the beginning of the age of that system. These things are concerned with the coming of the Prophet Jesus and Hazrat Mahdi (as). Of course some people may be suspicious of this. Some people on right and left may regard it as something peculiar, but I say let us await the historical developments all together. If what I say does not happen then they can come and reproach me. But the Turkish-Islamic Union will happen, the Prophet Jesus (as) will return and Hazrat Mahdi (as) will come.

4- LATEST DEVELOPMENTS AND THE COMING TURKISH-ISLAMIC UNION

ADNAN OKTAR: The Turkish Parliament was convened on the subject of the Turkish-Islamic Union. At the initiative of 29 countries an agreement was made for an Islamic Common Market. This happened, by Allah’s leave, after we, I had raised the subject. These are developments that followed our concentration on the issue. It was decided to lower taxes and increase trade between Muslim countries. During his visit to Turkey Ahmadinejad prayed behind a Sunni imam. “We regard progress for Turkey as progress for us. We are brothers. We are members of the same faith. Great strength and collaboration can be established between the two countries. That strength can be used to build peace in the region and the world,” he said. That is a splendid development. Because they used to think there was a gulf between Shiites and Sunnis. But he said we are brothers. He prayed behind a Sunni imam, in an Ottoman mosque. That matter is over and done with.
REPORTER: Definitely.
ADNAN OKTAR: Masha’Allah, Turkey led the way to the Caucasian alliance, for example, and that was a highly significant development. The African Union met in Istanbul. That is an important development. Work on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway was initiated with an alliance between Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan for the re-opening of the historic Silk Road. That is new. An assemble of parliamentarians from Turkish speaking countries was held in Istanbul. That was described in the press as the first step toward Turkish union. During the opening of the Turkish-Georgian border crossing the Georgian head of state said he wanted the borders to be lifted. Meetings have begun between for the opening of the Turkish-Armenian border and Armenia’s withdrawal from Nagorno-Karabagh. A Turkish prime minister visited Iran for the first time in 18 years. This week, Turkish President Abdullah Gül is going to Iraq. A Turkish president is going to Iraq for the first time in 33 years. America, for instance, has told that Turkey should lead the United Nations in Iraq. The TRT Türk TV channel has been set up, and will broadcast 24 hours a day in Azeri, Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Turkmen and Uzbek. This will be the sword of the Turkish-Islamic Union, by Allah’s leave. The king of Saudi Arabia held an International Islamic Dialogue meeting in Istanbul and made a declaration stating that the priority is an Islamic Union. The Syrian chief mufti made a statement saying the border between Turkey and Syria should be lifted. The Bahrain foreign minister said that a union including Turkey and Iran should be set up in order for existing problems to be resolved and that Israel should be included within the union. He said there was no other way of resolving the problems. Turkey was elected a member of the U.N. Security Council. All Arab and African countries voted for Turkey. The list is endless. There are around 300 such developments. These are things that happened after we raised the issue of the Turkish-Islamic Union.

ADNAN OKTAR: Thanks be to Allah, whatever we say, He is bringing about. I have recently been concentrating on the Turkish-Islamic Union and Almighty Allah is heeding our prayers about that and amazing progress on the subject is being made. Turkish Union meetings have been held. There have been very interesting developments emphasizing the Turkish-Islamic Union. For instance, countries excitedly supporting the football game of our National Team are all very keen for a Turkish-Islamic Union. The nation has risen up in Egypt, for instance. Nobody slept in East Turkestan. These people are heroes who want to see a Turkish-Islamic Union. These people are our natural brothers, of course. They are our brothers who share our cause. After that, Allah gave rise to the Georgian problem, in a most auspicious way. The Caucasian Union, the first step toward the Turkish-Islamic Union; the prime minister immediately went to Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijan is already the country that wants to be a pioneer in the Turkish-Islamic Union.

ADNAN OKTAR: There is work being carried out on lifting the Azerbaijan border and the Armenian border, and the borders with Georgia and Lithuania, the Iraqi and Syrian borders. There has been a huge acceleration. Meetings are constantly being held in the Turkic states and in Islamic states. America also now looks favorably on the issue. That will be brought up during Obama’s visit. There is splendid progress, great progress being made. But the Turkish nation must genuinely support this union, this great union, with great love and passion. They must support it in their prayers, in petitions, in words and in writing, in the coffee houses and in their homes. Even if some people do not support it, it will still happen, that much is certain. That is Almighty Allah’s promise. That is destiny and will inevitably happen. Everyone will see that around 2014. By Allah’s leave we will be the sultan of the world in around 2021.

5- THE TURKISH-ISLAMIC UNION IS THE WORLD’S MOST URGENT NEED

ADNAN OKTAR: Every day we see how important the things I am saying are and how urgently this union is needed. They martyred nine of our heroes yesterday. That will never happen with the Turkish-Islamic Union, never. Everyone knows what is happening in Abkhazia, the Caucasus, Ossetia and Georgia. These things would never happen under the Turkish-Islamic Union. It is the absence of such a union that lies behind all this bloodshed. The Turkish-Islamic Union is the world’s most urgent need. 6- TURKISH-ISLAMIC UNION IS OBLIGATORY

That is, when you become genuine believers, He says, I will make you rule the entire world. He says He will eliminate your fears, and place your religion [within you]; that is Allah’s promise. One of the things Muslims must be most scrupulous about is union and unity. This is an obligatory matter and one of great importance. One of the conditions of Islam is union and unity.

ADNAN OKTAR: People should shout out in the streets, demanding the Turkish-Islamic Union be established, must pray for it in the mosques. Muslims must pray for it everywhere. The solution is union and unity. There is no solution other than union and unity. Muslims have committed this unlawfulness, as division is a sin, fragmentation is a sin, and Muslims are thus committing a sin. Union is a matter of obligation. ADNAN OKTAR: That is an approach that opposes Allah. Allah tells us to “unite.” But people are saying, “I shall not unite.” May Allah forbid! This is similar to not performing one’s regular prayers while Allah commands us to do so. Allah tells us not to eat pork, and we do not eat it. But He tells us “do not be divided,” and we are divided. He commands us to “unite” but we do not. That is unlawful. Muslims must unite together at once.
7- THE GROUNDWORK IS READY FOR THE TURKISH-ISLAMIC UNION

ADNAN OKTAR: The circumstances are now ideal for the establishment of the Turkish-Islamic Union. There are virtually no obstacles at present. It is as if someone calls out for a union it will be formed instantly. My friends gave out a newspaper announcement the other day calling for Azerbaijan to unite with Turkey. Excellent, positive messages have come in from all over. The president of Azerbaijan wants this also. We are in contact with Palestine and they want it, an Islamic Union. Syria wants it, Iraq wants it, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria want it. There is nobody who does not. It merely needs to be given a name. But of course these times have an owner, a right timing, and Allah is delaying this for the formation of these conditions at the correct moment.

The leader has to stand out and be right there. And that is Turkey’s right. The sacred relics are also in Turkey. And we have the experience. Thanks be to Allah we have a well-educated, intellectual work force with great taqwa. We are a highly rational nation. We are a modest, compassionate and loving nation that is well able to withstand suffering. We are a nation that delight in service and in human happiness. We still strive to bring peace and reconciliation wherever we go. They call on us wherever we go. Come and mediate between us. Israel and Syria are calling on us. Algeria is calling on us. Why? Because they know we are the natural leader. So Turkey should assume the leadership, we will say. The Turkic states are one nation that has been artificially divided. We are one family, and this is a family affair. We have turned to this matter, the Turkish-Islamic Union, as a family. Of course we will join together with the Turkish world, with our brothers, our own family, and with the whole Islamic world to embrace and protect our family. Who else can we do that with? There is a powerful, healthy, sincere, candid, courageous and altruistic nation, one that demands to serve. We say we want to serve. We will serve. We will be the servant of the Islamic world. That is it. But we do not say there is an extraordinary superiority in our genes. We do not claim to be superior in terms of blood or race. We believe that Allah creates everyone equally. But we are an eligible nation in terms of moral values and taqwa, and of administrative skills. That is evident. There can be no objection to that. It is there for all to see, even children can see it. And it is not just us who say it, but the whole Islamic world. They say come and be the leader. We did not claim that for ourselves. They say it themselves. And we have the relics. We are the continuation of the Ottomans, insha’Allah. That is why we will strive to fulfill this great task. And we have not fulfilled this task and our nation has suffered. The Turkish world has suffered. The Islamic world has suffered. And they still are. They are in a terrible state and are crying out for help. That is an obligation, to help those asking for help. Let us join together and hasten to their assistance.

ADNAN OKTAR: The Turkish-Islamic Union has long been an ideal of mine. Let us again attain the old glory of Ottoman times. Let Turkey be a great Turkey and shape the whole world. Because the Turkish nation are highly virtuous people. You go to the Black Sea and you encounter excellent moral values, or to Anatolia or to Southeast Anatolia. The finest and most virtuous people in the world are in Anatolia, in Turkey. The logical thing is for these moral values to shape and direct the world and establish justice in it. A German, for instance, has a totally different spirit. He does now know love or hospitality to that same extent. They do not know hospitability. They are less willing to suffer for those they love. Their family ties are not that strong. But that is not so in Anatolia. There, people give food to others rather than eat themselves, and they give the best bed to guests. They will go cold and insists their guests lie in the warm. You cannot find such lofty moral values anywhere else in the world. Everywhere else, selfishness and egoism rule. These moral virtues must rule the world. That can only happen with the Turkish-Islamic Union and under Turkish leadership, with Turkey acting as older brother.

ADNAN OKTAR: Allah has appointed this nation. There are a great many hadith about the Turkish nation having a duty. He says that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will bring the dispersed Turkish flags back together. He will bring the dispersed Turkic states back together. Look, that is highly significant. The hadith is quite explicit. The Turkic states now need to be amalgamated, for they are a very heroic and self-sacrificing nation. The nation is very careful of its honor and character. It allows nobody to smear its character and honor. That is the nation that will lead the Turkish-Islamic Union. Turkey is the leader, and everyone will see that. Its spiritual capital will be Istanbul. It will be the spiritual capital of the whole Turkish-Islamic world; its political capital is Ankara, and its spiritual capital Istanbul, insha’Allah.

ADNAN OKTAR: It appears from the accounts that it will be led by the Turks. That is what the account says, and what Said Nursi states. Said Nursi says Hazrat Mahdi (as) will appear in Istanbul. It is described as the location of the events of the End Times. He openly says it will be Istanbul, or Turkey in other words. He says that no power can remove it from the bosom of Anatolia. He says those seeds will sprout and that he will watch it from his grave. In other words, he points to it happening in Turkey.

They say we must open our borders and be one. My writings and descriptions have encouraged them and they have now adopted that idea.

ADNAN OKTAR: There is no superiority of blood or race in the Turkish-Islamic Union. There is only moral superiority. We say that Turkey is the country in which people best live by Islam. It is the country with the highest leadership qualities. It is a brave and virtuous nation. Nobody denies that. This will be a union of moral virtues once the Turkic states combine together. It is not a union of blood. Our aim is to serve the Islamic world and the whole world. There is no idea of putting other faiths and races down, but rather one of serving them. The idea is to enrich other races and bring ease, peace and freedom to other faiths.

ADNAN OKTAR: Let me tell you that if they all coalesce around Arab nationalism, that will ruin them. Allah will destroy anyone who tries to coalesce around race alone, any idea of racial superiority. That is out of the question. The Turkish-Islamic Union is the most perfect possible system. A union of Islam led by Turks. That is it. The solution is plain to see. It is compatible with the Qur’an, the Sunna, reason, good conscience and our own national interests. It is compatible with everything, compatible with all the interests of the world. It is a system that all the countries of the world will sign up to. Because it is based on love. And there is no racial superiority in it. It is a force for service respectful of all faiths and races. Our idea is to serve the world. Forget about us, we say, let us serve you. Let us extract minerals and sell them to you. In addition, the Islamic world is a structure that also requires brotherhood. But there is separation and division there, too. That needs to be overcome, and overcome very quickly.

We will give them money and economic opportunities, and we will join as a leader. We will offer them all the strength and wealth of Asia and all Islamic countries. We will also offer them technical opportunities. We will serve as a bridge. That is what I am saying. Otherwise, I am an admirer of European art, science and culture. Of course I like its culture and art. I like its architecture. I have a huge respect for it in those terms. I like its democracy, and its conception of freedom. Let them be even freer and more democratic. And I want Turkey to fully adopt European democracy, and to go even further. In that sense, of course I want us to join the EU.

ADNAN OKTAR: Look, there is a saying that nobody likes a poor person. That is especially the case with Europeans. They really like wealthy types. When they see a wealthy Turkey, the leader of the Turkish-Islamic Union, in front of them, they will beg it. They will go to Turkey, not ask Turkey to join it. That is, they will show courtesy and join us. And we will thus have joined the EU. But if we say our material means are weak, if we ask the EU to take us in, to strengthen us and invigorate our economy, to bring us law and justice, and generally to save us, the Europe will turn us away. But if we say we are strong and powerful, the leader of the mighty Turkish-Islamic Union, and we have oil and mineral resources, we are a super state, come and let us make you rich, you join us and we will join you, then they will come running. You know there is such kind of a rule while visiting someone’s house. The younger one visits the older one. Similarly they will come to Turkey’s home and then we will unite together. I like all Europeans, let me state that. Italy, France, Norway, Denmark and the rest are all civilized states. All excellent places.
